How do I install Blue 92 Anti-Fracture Membrane or 9235 Waterproofing Membrane (as an anti-fracture membrane)?
9235 Waterproofing Membrane and Blue 92 Anti-Fracture Membrane are cold-applied, liquid rubber polymers which are used with Waterproofing/Anti-Fracture Fabric. The liquid is applied with a paint roller or paint brush and the fabric is embedded into the liquid until the liquid bleeds through the fabric. A top coat of the membrane liquid is immediately applied over the fabric. LATASILTM is applied at adjoining surfaces, drains connections and pipe penetrations.

How do I install HYDRO BAN® as an anti-fracture membrane?
HYDRO BAN® is a cold-applied, liquid rubber polymer which is applied with a paint roller, paint brush or airless paint sprayer. No membrane reinforcing fabric is typically required. The first liquid coat must be completely dry to the touch prior to applying the second coat of membrane liquid. HYDRO BAN will change from a sage green color to an olive green color when dry. The second liquid coat can then be aplied and must also dry to the touch. A LATICRETE Latex-fortified thin-set (e.g. 254 Platinum) may be used to install most types of tile or stone directly to the HYDRO BAN. What is the coverage of 9235 Waterproofing Membrane and Blue 92 Anti-Fracture Membrane?
One full unit consists of 6 gallons (23 liters) of 9235 Waterproofing Membrane liquid and Waterproofing/Anti-Fracture Fabric and will cover approximately 300 ft2(27m2).
One mini unit consists of 2 gallons (7.6 liters) of 9235 Waterproofing Membrane liquid and enough Waterproofing/Anti-Fracture Fabric to cover approximately 75 ft2(6.8m2).

New Concrete - minimum 14 days at 70°F (21°C)
Latex mortar beds - next day at 70°F (21°C)
Leveling or patching materials - allow a full 72 hour cure time at 70°F (21°C).
NOTE: Most importantly for all substrates above; the substrate moisture content must not exceed 5 lbs./1,000 ft2/24 hours (283µg/s•m2) when tested using the Calcium Chloride test (ASTM F1869) or 75% Relative Humidity (RH) when tested with moisture probes (ASTM F2170).

HYDRO BAN® and 9235 Waterproofing Membrane are components of the LATICRETE Lifetime Tile & Stone System Warranty (DS 230.99APD), the LATICRETE 25 Year Tile & Stone System Warranty (DS 025.0APD), the LATICRETE 15 Year Tile & Stone System Warranty for Steel or Wood Framed Exterior Facades (DS 230.15APD), and the LATICRETE 10 Year Tile & Stone System Warranty when using a full LATICRETE System as outlined in the appropriate LATICRETE Systems Warranty. Will HYDRO BAN® or 9235 Waterproofing Membrane control moisture or water from entering the underside of the tile system due to negative hydrostatic pressure or excessive moisture content?
No! HYDRO BAN® and 9235 Waterproofing Membrane are designed to contain water from the positive side only. The use of these membranes is not recommended where negative hydrostatic pressure or excessive vapor transmission exists. When a moisture vapor reduction membrane is required, use LATAPOXY® 312 Vapor Reduction Membrane.

How do I treat the drains when using HYDRO BAN®, 9235 Waterproofing Membrane or Blue 92 Anti-Fracture Membrane?
You should use a 2-part clamping ring style drain (per ASME 112.6.3). HYDRO BAN®, 9235 Waterproofing Membrane and Blue 92 Anti-Fracture Membrane must be installed down into the drain assembly and clamped down between the clamping ring of the drain. Once the waterproofing membrane is dry to the touch, use LATASILTM to put a continuous bead of sealant between the waterproofing membrane and the clamping ring before bolting down the clamping ring.

Can you install vinyl tile over HYDRO BAN®, 9235 Waterproofing Membrane or Blue 92 Anti-Fracture Membrane?
Yes - after the HYDRO BAN®, 9235 Waterproofing Membrane or Blue 92 Anti-Fracture Membrane is installed, use a latex based vinyl adhesive to adhere the vinyl tile to the membranes. Ensure that the adhesive contains no solvents. If there is a question as to the compatibility of the vinyl adhesive and the membrane, apply a continuous 1/8" (3mm) thick coating of a LATICRETE polymer fortified thinset mortar to the membrane and allow to harden. Then install the vinyl flooring.
Can you install HYDRO BAN®, 9235 Waterproofing Membrane or Blue 92 Anti-Fracture Membrane over plywood in exterior applications?
No – HYDRO BAN®, 9235 Waterproofing Membrane and Blue 92 Anti-Fracture Membrane are not intended for this installation. You must use the Plaza and Deck System for these applications.
